Boundary County switching from Nixle to Everbridge for emergency alerts

Boundary County will soon be upgrading its current Nixle program to the Everbridge Alert System to communicate quickly with citizens and businesses during emergencies and other critical events. With Everbridge, messages will be sent to residents and business owners on their preferred contact method including the Everbridge App, cell phone, SMS, home phone, email, and more—to ensure real-time access to potentially lifesaving information, and will have the option to confirm receipt of the notification.

Residents are encouraged to register immediately via the Everbridge portal to begin receiving these alerts at the beginning of 2024.

If you are a current user of the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office Nixle program to receive emergency alerts, you will need to create a new account to confirm what notifications you would like to receive and how you receive them.

Boundary County will use the Everbridge emergency notification system to alert residents about a variety of events, ranging from severe weather, hazardous materials incidents, wildland fires, evacuations, and other emergencies, to more routine announcements, such as road closures and other public safety messages, as well as upcoming information and events provided by Law Enforcement, as available.

The Everbridge emergency notification system allows Boundary County Sheriff’s Office to disseminate this information across all types of devices, in a more fiscally responsible manner, yet still ensuring residents have access to real-time public information when they need it the most.
