There will be some word-class skateboarding going on at the Bonners Ferry Skate Park soon as the Boundary County Skatepark Alliance continues to work on building a park worthy of their skills … and where local boarders can better hone their skills, perhaps to skate on a world stage.
Bonners Ferry will be the third stop on the three-day Panhandle Invasion Skate Tour put together by organizer Jason Olsen of Yousta, as in ” I Yousta skate,” an outlet for decks and skate gear created here in the northwest by a group of older skateboarders.
Embarking on the tour will be serious skateboarders Brad Pichler, Jpat Budig, Dan Eastman, Crue Manzer, Dan Franklin, Brady Wickell, Marty Collyteer and Christian Davy, with stops at the Emerge Block Party in Coeur d’Alene at 4 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the Lewiston Skatepark at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and at the Bonners Ferry Skatepark at the Boundary County Fairgrounds at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14.
Admission is free, donations will be gratefully accepted.
The Boundary County Skatepark Alliance is impatiently waiting on the first round of designs for a new and improved Bonners Ferry Skatepark, they’ll soon be soliciting donors and corporate sponsors and they’ll have a booth at the Boundary County Fair to show the community the progress they’ve made.
