Illegal burning creates hazard at county boat launch

Boundary County maintenance workers have been cleaning up the remains of burn piles found at the public boat launch at the Deep Creek confluence with the Kootenai River.

The piles contained broken glass and several pounds of nails, which of course do not burn and remain on the ground to pose a nuisance and a safety hazard to other users of the facility. Burning trash and piles of refuse is not permitted there or at other county public areas.

County officials request that residents help take good care of our public facilities and use available trash cans or other county refuse disposal sites for disposal of trash.

If any of the county boat launches need attention from Boundary County maintenance, please call (208) 946-7608 or send an email to maintenance@boundarycountyid.org.
