A major law enforcement incident is underway in Kootenai County, with Kootenai County Emergency Management issuing notice at about 3:25 p.m. today for those in the area of Canfield Mountain Trailhead/Nettleton Gulch Road area to shelter in place and all others to avoid the area.
Spokane stations are reporting that scanner traffic indicates that crews responding to a report of a wildfire have been ambushed and first responders have been shot.
