Richard Cowell III pled guilty today to a charge of conspiring with his wife, Katherine, to sexually abusing two of their five children and took an Alford plea regarding a charge of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 16.
Under an Alford plea, the accused does not admit guilt, but admits the evidence against them is likely sufficient to result in a guilty verdict.
Judge Susie Jensen accepted his plea and set sentencing for 1:30 p.m. November 3.
A full psychiatric exam and polygraph are to be performed before sentencing.
