It was quite the exciting weekend for eight 15u Bonners Ferry boys. Gordon Woelfle, Winchester Woelfle, Baylor Sheets, Couper Hart, Max Thompson, Colson Baisden, Tyson Dickson and Landen Dickson represented Bonners Ferry well at the SuperDraft Tournament this weekend in Whitefish Montana. The tournament sported six teams, five of which included Bonners Ferry players scattered throughout.

The heart and soul of the SuperDraft Tournament is to foster relationships and create memories and these boys did just that.

Bonners Ferry represented well in all aspects of the tournament. Gordon Woelfle, playing for the White team, hit for over 700 and had ten strikeouts for the weekend helping bring the White team to the second-place position. Baylor Sheets closed out well from the mound moving the Red team up in the standings.

Alan Dickson and Dustin Woelfle have been coaching together for several years and had the pleasure of coaching one of the six teams: the Royal team. After two long days of baseball, the Royal team, complete with two Bonners Ferry players, Tyson Dickson and Landen Dickson, took the championship!

“It was an amazing tournament,” Coach Alan Dickson said, “It was full of competition with great players. It was quite the experience to coach a team all the way through to a championship victory and to get a ring to go with it. The memories and friendships that have been made are priceless. All of the Badgers players grew by leaps and bounds and gained confidence for the seasons to come.”

Coach Alan Dickson and Assistant Coach Dustin Woelfle took their junior league from a nearly undefeated season with 10 wins, one loss and one tie to champions of the SuperDraft tournament.

The future is bright for Badger Baseball. Go Badgers!
