On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Alec and Bree, children of Kyle and Tiffany Maas, were headed home from a school fundraiser when a semi-truck hit Alec’s Mini Cooper and sent it flying, eventually landing on the shoulder of Highway 95 just south of Turner Hill Road. Life Flight was called in and promptly flew Bree from the scene to Sacred Heart in Spokane and Alec shortly after from Boundary Community Hospital.
Bree had a lacerated spleen and broken collar bone, and Alec had a skull fracture, broken wrist and lacerated liver. Both had concussions.
We are thrilled to announce that Alec and Bree have both made a near full recovery and are back to living and loving life as though it never happened. Alec is ready to hit the road again with Bree as his co-pilot and you will find both smiling ear to ear most days as they press on through this journey called life.
“Miracles happen!” Their mom, Tiffany says, “It was a miracle from the time it happened. The fact that they both lived and had minimal issues, considering the damage to the car, was such a gift. I feel blessed and lucky to have had both of them survive and be thriving. It could have been much worse, and I thank God every day for the gift of life.”
