Your Bonners Ferry Badgers took the win under the lights this Friday night against the Priest River Spartans 26-14 in their second non-conference game of the season.
“The offense got us started with two touchdowns on the first two possessions and the defense and special teams completed the game for us.” Head coach, Danny Swift says.
“The win was a true team effort, every Badger player was asked to contribute in one way or another. The offensive line paved the way for a balanced attack. Quarterback, Alex Stolley completed 8-14 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.”
Keenan Maas led the rushing attack with 174 yards on 23 carries adding two scores on the ground. Cooper Higgins had a touchdown catch. Conrad Hiatt capped off the scoring with an electric 82-yard kickoff return touchdown.
The defense played a great game slowing the high-powered Spartan offense all night long.
I am incredibly proud of our staff for putting together a great game plan and our players for putting in the work, studying the film, and executing the game plan. We had a key two-way player out for this week’s game as he continues to recover from an injury and the players stepped up and stepped in to fill that void seamlessly.
We will enjoy this win but get right back to work preparing for a rejuvenated St. Maries team this Friday!”
The Badgers will play again, this Friday night under the lights in St. Maries at 424 Hells Gulch Road in St. Maries at 7 p.m. against the 3A Lumberjacks.
Go Badgers!
