The Bonners Ferry 8th grade Badgers faced off against the Coeur d’Alene Buccaneers in a hard-fought game this afternoon.
“We overcame a sloppy first half,” Coach Karl Green says, “Sam Brown had an interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter. Late in the fourth quarter, Sam Brown threw a touchdown pass to Cody Russell. Luke Scarborough had an outstanding game on both sides of the ball. It was a hard-fought battle with the Badgers coming out on top.”
With a final score of 13 to 6 the Badgers took the win.
“The Badgers showed some great teamwork and determination on the field.” Monique Russell said of today’s game. “The Badgers played with heart and continue to grow stronger each week.”
The Badgers are coached by Karl Green, Kip Hartman and Mark Elliston.
The 8th Grade Badgers will play next week at Lakeland Junior High for a chance at first place in the league. More details to come.
