Three soccer girls awarded All-League titles

Nevaeh Therrien #11, senior, captain, defender

The 2025 Badgers girls’ soccer team went 6-4 in conference play and placed 3rd in the 4A Intermountain League.

There are three seniors on the team awarded Intermountain League All-League titles: Nevaeh Therrien, Maddie Hart and Alexys Mierke. Receiving All-League is an honor that many athletes strive to earn.

“Nevaeh Therrien, #11, senior, captain and defender joined her sophomore year and never looked back, showing herself as a strong defensive force but really stepping into leadership positions at the center the end of her junior year. She proved she could lead our defense as our center back this year and play with composure, maturity, communication, and great timing on her tackles. She is constantly aggressive and works really hard all game every game.” Her coach, Emily Winebark says.”

Maddie Hart, #14, senior, captain, forward

Emily goes on, “Maddie Hart, #14, senior, captain, forward, and the Badger’s top scorer, three years running has played varsity all four years and is who we have relied on for our offensive attacks, scoring goals, taking corners, or assisting others, she has a mind for the game and knows how to move the ball forward. She has also been our captain for two years, always showing patience, compassion, and an encouraging leadership to younger girls. She loves this game and wants others to love it too.”

Alexys Mierke #13, senior, captain, midfielder

“Alexys Mierke, #13, senior, captain, midfielder, team MVP, and IML All- League MVP is our powerhouse and a non-stop force. She has played varsity all four years, starting at forward but quickly showing her versatility and inability to get tired. She is a great passer, starting tons of plays and scoring opportunities and always getting back to help her team defend. While smaller than most players on the field, her skills were so strong, that she was often man-marking players more experienced and larger than her.  She plays through any pain and is passionate about winning. She gives 100 percent every moment she is on that field and is a true competitor.” Emily says of Alexys.

“Alexys, your dad and I are beyond proud of your hard work and dedication” Her mom Kristen says, “We are looking forward to seeing where your soccer career goes from here.”

“Way to go, Neveah!” her mom, Celia says, “All your hard work has paid off. We are so proud of your constant determination to be your best. Love Mom and Dad.”

“Great job this season, Maddie! We couldn’t be prouder of you!”

Great season, ladies! Go Badgers!
