Bonners Ferry Middle School took 20 wrestlers to the Jerry Lamb District Tournament in Priest River Saturday and finished third overall out of seven schools, just missing out on second place. St. Maries finished first and Timberlake second.
Badger Dalton Regehr won first place in districts for the third year in a row. Here are the tourney’s top BFMS medalists:
- First place: Warren Hummel, Dalton Regehr, Brody Swift
- Second place: Samuel Brown, James Cederquist, Cody Russell, Brady McLaughlin
- Third place: Wyatt Riek, Luke Scarborough, Nathan Stolley
- Fourth Place: Logan White, Jackson Runyon
“It was an outstanding season as our eighth graders dominated most of the season and our younger wrestlers improved throughout the season,” coach Karl Green said. “Between the girls tournament and the boys tournament, we had 32 wrestlers compete and 16 of them came home with the hardware. It is an amazing season when 50-percent of your wrestlers place at district.”
