Boundary Community Hospital is proud to announce the successful three-year redesignation of our Stroke and STEMI (Heart Attack) programs under Idaho’s Time- Sensitive Emergency (TSE) system.
These designations confirm that our teams consistently meet strict national standards for rapid diagnosis, treatment timelines, and medication protocols, standards that directly impact survival and long-term recovery. When seconds matter, our community can count on expert emergency care right here at home.
Over the past year, we’ve seen a significant increase in stroke cases, which tells us two things: people are recognizing symptoms sooner, and our community trusts BCH for time-sensitive care. As part of Idaho’s statewide goals, a new public education campaign will encourage more patients to call 911 immediately at the first sign of stroke or heart attack. Currently, only about 50% of stroke patients arrive by ambulance, and increasing that number is key to improving outcomes. Remember that early action saves lives.
These redesignations also complement our existing TSE Trauma designations. Together, Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma oversight ensure seamless coordination, quality compliance, and continued access to state and federal funding that supports lifesaving emergency services in Boundary County.
We’re incredibly proud of our emergency, clinical, and EMS staff and partners who make this work possible every day. Their dedication ensures that our community receives the highest level of care, especially when every minute counts.
Thank you for trusting Boundary Community Hospital with your most urgent moments. Together,
we’re building a healthier, safer Boundary County.
