Windstorm expected overnight, tomorrow

The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a high wind warning for southwest winds gusting as high as 70 miles-per-hour over an area including Boundary County, in effect from 10 p.m. today through 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

In areas with saturated soils from previous recent rainfall, trees and power lines could see higher impacts.

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
