Update from Northern Lights Electric

Update from Northern Lights Electric: Wednesday, 3:00 P.M. PST

Crews continue working across our service area to restore power as safely and quickly as conditions allow.

Today’s storm damage is extensive and includes multiple broken poles (replacing even one can take hours), dozens of downed wires that must be cut free and restrung, and widespread damage to crossarms and other support hardware.

Because there is still too much damage to fully assess, we cannot provide reasonable restoration time estimates at this point. The situation remains fluid, and crews are making progress where they can.

Restoration will continue to be prioritized in this order: Transmission, then large distribution feeders, then smaller neighborhood taps, and finally individual service repairs.

At this time, it is reasonable to assume that many locations will not have power tonight. Later this evening we will begin trying to forecast restoration windows for some of the larger remaining outages, but smaller outages requiring significant repairs may not be addressed for another 24 hours or more. 🚫

REMEMBER TO STAY SAFE:

Never drive near or over downed power lines.

Always assume downed power lines are energized.

Stay far away from power lines on the ground.

Do not attempt to remove trees or limbs from lines.

Stay back, keep others away, and call for help.
