In November, Kootenai Health announced that they were unable to reach an agreement with Regence BlueShield and would be out of network for thousands of patients beginning January 1, 2026.

This sent a wave of fear, questions and frustration throughout the Idaho panhandle.

However, according to Kootenai Health today, “Kootenai Health and Regence BlueShield of Idaho have reached a new multi-year contract agreement. Regence members will continue to have in-network access to all Kootenai Health services and providers.”

What will this mean for you and your health care?

“Nothing changes for you. If you have Regence insurance, you can continue receiving care at Kootenai Health as an in-network patient. Your appointments, treatments, and ongoing care will continue as scheduled.”

If you have any questions, you may call your Kootenai Health provider’s office directly or call the customer service number on the back of your Regence BlueShield card.
