Al Wilson’s old auto repair shop at 6714 Main Street, Bonners Ferry, now Elite Tire & Suspension, went up in flames early this morning, drawing a response from the Bonners Ferry Fire Department and other fire crews from outlying departments called in for mutual aid. Kudos to the county’s responding volunteer fire departments. They suppressed the fire before the structure was burned to the ground. In the process they protected the nearby businesses of Burger Express and Simple Simon’s Pizza and Calzones. Losing them would have extended the loss beyond this tire and suspension shop. We happily still take our cars to Al but loved having his shop so close. Rob & Clarice McKenney
