Winter weather advisory in effect overnight

The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a winter weather advisory for snow affecting Boundary, Bonner and part of Kootenai Counties through 4 a.m. Thursday, January 8. Two to four inches of new snow is expected below 3,000 feet, and as much as nine inches possible above 3, 000 feet.

Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick. Travel could be very difficult. Winter driving conditions could impact the Wednesday evening commute.

Snow may initially melt on surfaces before refreezing, resulting in slick conditions.
