Give snowplows a wide berth

Idaho Transportation Department folks talk a lot about giving plows space … and this is exactly why. On Wednesday, January 8, one of their trucks was hit while working to clear snow and keep roads safe.

Thankfully, the plow wasn’t heavily damaged, and our operator is okay.

This crash caused delays that were still being felt hours later. It impacted other drivers, responders, and ITD crews trying to do their jobs safely.

So consider this your friendly (but serious) reminder:

  • Please don’t pass a snowplow on the right
  • Stay at least 200 feet back
  • Slow down, stay alert and be patient

Let’s all look out for one another this winter!
