It’s not every day that you meet someone who has tuned a piano for Willie Nelson or had the honor of tuning for Steinway. Well, today is the day. Meet Joe Bovy, Registered Piano Technician and pianist extraordinaire. He is a member of the Piano Technicians Guild and has a deep understanding of the internal workings of pianos of all shapes and sizes.
And he lives right here in Bonners Ferry.

Joe was born with music seeping from his pores. Since he was just a wee lad, Joe Bovy has been tuned to music in more ways than one. Not only does he excel at the piano but also plays guitar, trombone and euphonium. He sings, too.
“I love understanding how things work and helping people make great music.” Joe says, “Piano tuning lets me do both; diagnose and fix problems and restore an instrument so that it supports the musician instead of fighting them.”
Music is Joe’s passion and when passion comes into play, service shines. Joe will travel far and wide to get have your piano running in tip-top shape, whether you are in the North Idaho region, Western Montana, including Troy, Libby, Trout Creek, Thompson Falls, and Plains, Eastern Washington, including Newport, Spokane, Mead, Deer Park, Nine Mile Falls, Colville, Spokane Valley, and Moses Lake or even Grants Pass and Medford, Oregon and Sacramento and Roseville, California.
Not only are Willie Nelson and Steinway in his brag book, but so are John “Cougar” Mellencamp, the Music Conservatory of Coeur d’Alene, the Spokane Convention Center and the Pearl Theater.
If it’s tuning you need, or just a nice shine on that baby grand, give Joe a call at (951) 200-0425 or book at Bovy Piano Tuning & Service.
