On January 18, the Bonners Ferry Eagles Aerie #3522 hosted a huckleberry pancake breakfast complete with eggs, sausage, fruit and coffee with all proceeds being donated to Second Chance Animal Adoption right here in Bonners Ferry.

According to Eagles public relations representative, Leslie Stankiewicz, “It was the biggest turn out yet and most donations ever collected at a breakfast. We even ran out of food!”

In true Bonners Ferry fashion, Boundary County residents showed up in a huge way to support their own.

On January 24, a check for $1,785 was presented to board members of Second Chance Animal Adoption from the President of Eagles Fraternal Order, Shawn Smith and Mel Wood, Conductor for Eagles 3522.

“The animals at Second Chance Animal Adoption are incredibly blessed to be in such a wonderful community and we are so grateful to everyone that showed up and gave of their hard-earned money to support such a wonderful cause.” Board member Jennifer Kelson says, “We are excited to take these funds and put them to good use for the animals.”
