North Idaho Classical Academy (NICA) is set to open its doors in August 2026, offering a tuition-free, public charter school experience grounded in classical education principles. Located in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, NICA aims to serve students from Boundary County and the surrounding communities, with an initial enrollment of grades Kâ7 and plans to expand to a full Kâ12 program over time. Title and special education services will be available as well.

- The lottery will be conducted on March 5, 2026, at 6 p.m. (results are not announced).
- Immediately following the lottery, NICA staff will complete an audit of the lottery system to ensure correct priority categories were applied and no issues occurred.
- Lottery results will be emailed to parents by 6 p.m. on March 6.
- Parents have until 4 p.m. on March 13 to accept or decline a seat.
- Parents must complete the enrollment process before 4 p.m. on March 27 in order to secure their student’s seat for the 2026/2027 school year.
