Liberty Smith and Ethan Cowell

The Bonners Ferry FFA Chapter traveled to Moscow, Idaho on Friday for the District 5 Farm Bureau Discussion Meet and Speech Contest.

Let’s give a round of applause to Ethan Cowell for winning the discussion meet and a huge congratulations to Liberty Smith for winning the speech contest.

Ethan and Liberty will represent District 5 and Bonners Ferry at the state convention in February.

Additionally, Clara Zills placed 2nd, Randi Hibbard placed 3rd and Olivia Lammers placed 4th in the speech contest.

According to National FFA, “FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success.

Members are future farmers, chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields.”

If you have questions about how to join, you can reach out to them on their Facebook page or you can call Boundary County School District at (208) 267-3146 for direct contact information.

Congratulations to all of the placers and Go Badgers!
