Hana and Hallie Hartman, daughters of Kip and Ginny Hartman of Bonners Ferry, have both committed to Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah, to continue their athletic careers throwing shot put, discus, hammer and weight for the 2026/2027 season.

“For years it has been their dream to throw at a division one school and seeing that dream come true is inspiring,” their mom Ginny says.
They will both be attending Southern Utah University on full ride scholarships and have put in years of work and training to achieving their long-awaited goals.
“I was their middle school coach. They are competitive, hardworking, dedicated, and respectful athletes and just nice human beings,” Teresa Rae says, “They have worked hard to get to where they are today and are going to have a phenomenal senior year. I can’t wait to also see where their college career takes them!”
Hana and Hallie both have dreams of going professional. Becoming division one athletes is another step to achieving that ultimate goal and the commitment to the Thunderbirds takes it even further. They are often found at the gym or at a throws center training for the next level, proving that their dedication to their sport is next to none.
Hana holds a personal record from junior year of 40’2″ for shot put and 116′ in discus and Hallie holds a personal record from her junior year of 42′ for shot put and 116.7′ in discus.
The twins are excited to be competing for the Badgers for one more season and look forward to what the future holds.
