Many of you may know the wonderful man who has been a local pilar of this community for years. You may have seen him at church, or at his shop or just around town. He always has a smile on his face no matter the circumstances and he cares deeply for those around him, especially those he holds close.
Bruce Merrifield is this man and he and his family need your help. Bruce and Deana have been faithful to this community for many years and have given of themselves, their time and their money to serve many people of Boundary County and it’s our turn to give back. They would never ask for a dime from anyone, so a GoFundMe account and bank account have been set up in their name.
According to the established GoFundMe page, Bruce was taken to Boundary Community Hospital on February 6, 2026, with severe chest pain. The doctors discovered that this was caused by a severe aortic dissection and he was transferred via ground by the LifeFlight crew to Kootenai Health. Due to the severity of this condition, Bruce was airlifted to the University of Washington Medical Center, today, February 11 where he is awaiting lifesaving cardiac surgery.
