Rice and Bateman to appear in Spokane contest

In 2025, Bonners Ferry’s own Brody Rice and Thomas Bateman, both committed to play basketball for the Treasure Valley Community College Chukars in Ontario, Oregon.

Now, let’s get that party bus fired up, cause the Badger duo turned Chukar will be back in the Inland Northwest for a Valentine’s Day contest against the Spokane Falls Community College Sasquatch.

Rice and Bateman have held their own on the Chukar court and have begun to climb the ladder of success at the college level.

Brody Rice, the 6’3″ freshman guard averages 4.8 points per game and has played 17 games so far this season. Thomas Bateman, the 6’5″ freshman forward averages 4.0 points per game and has played in 20 games to date for the 2026 season.

On Saturday, February 14 at noon PST, the Chukars will take on the Sasquatch in a Valentines Day matchup at 3410 W. Whistalks Way, Spokane, Washington, 99224.
