Tom – a man of his word

This is Tom. Tom made a deal. A deal that will go down as one of the most entertaining, fun filled and honorable moments in the history of the Bonners Ferry Safeway.

Tom kept his promise. And at 10:30 a.m. Saturday February 21, Tom will be wearing a tutu and the entire community is invited to witness the deal fulfilled.

Here’s the story as told by Debi…

“It all started with the customer surveys that our store, Safeway, does with our customers, which are designed towards finding out how we are doing and how to serve the community better.

“One day, as our front end manager, Tom was conducting a survey with a customer, he was explaining that our store was leading all the other stores in our Seattle division in receiving positive feedback from our customers.”

“He mentioned that it was very important that every cashier work together as a team to continue to hold this lead in great customer service to our community.

“At this point, our lead cashier Letisha (Tish) Williams suggested a ‘challenge’ to get everyone on board in this quest… an ‘incentive’ for all his cashiers.”

This was the challenge: If all the cashiers would continue doing the customer surveys to increase our customer satisfaction and continue to hold our lead in the entire Seattle division, then Tom would have to come to work dressed up in a pink tutu, with a crown and a wand, and then he would have to perform a ballet dance for all the employees and customers in the store.

Tom agreed to this challenge! As you can imagine, all the cashiers immediately got on board and worked as a team to help with the customer surveys and to increase our overall customer satisfaction and experience at the store!

Safeway customers are loving this challenge and have engaged the surveys in a very positive way, hence the Bonners Ferry Safeway has now led the Seattle division for the past several months!

Tom is definitely a man of his word and is now preparing to keep his end of the bargain ~ the ballet dance!
