According to godiggers.com, “The NCAA Division II Frontier Conference’s men’s basketball coaches voted three Montana Tech players to the all-conference teams, the league office announced Thursday evening.
Senior Hayden Diekhans garnered first-team honors, junior Brayden Koch earned a second-team spot, and freshman Asher Williams claimed the Frontier’s sixth man of the year award. Diekhans also landed on the all-defensive team.”
Asher Williams, the 185-pound, six-foot, six-inch freshman guard from Bonners Ferry, led the Badgers in 2025 to a 24-1 overall record and back-to-back Idaho 4A state championships in high school, was four-time All-State selection, three-time Idaho 4A Player of the Year, three-time Intermountain League Player of the Year and two-time state tournament MVP.
As a freshman Montana Tech Oredigger, according to Montana Tech Athletics, “Williams, a guard from Bonners Ferry, Idaho, was arguably the most impactful freshman in the conference this season. He ranked third on the team with 10.3 points per game and also chipped in 2.4 rebounds. Williams piled up 14 steals and 13 assists, and he shot 81.9 percent from the free throw stripe.”
Asher has joined the team leaders in games played with 28 and four games started with a total of 566 minutes of play on the season.
Asher Williams has a bright future ahead of him and the Orediggers are immensely fortunate to boast his name on their roster.
