“I’m proud of this team. They have come such a long way since our first game.” Head Coach Greg Kissee said Tuesday, “This is going to be a great experience, but we also know that we can win some games if we play to our capabilities. We had an awesome send off, from our great community!”

Your Bonners Ferry boys’ basketball team was sent off with quite the pomp and circumstance this morning when hundreds of students, parents, friends and fans gathered to send the team off to, for many, a once in a lifetime opportunity, “state”.
Having an opportunity to go “state” is not something every athlete is afforded. The stakes are high and someone always has to lose, but that means that someone always wins too. Over the years, the Badgers have had both; wins and losses and those are the experience that these kids and coaches will have etched into their memories for a lifetime.
The Badgers are headed to the Idaho High School Basketball tournament with a 12-8 record and an undefeated record in conference play making them district champions for the 4A Intermountain League.
The Badgers will make waves at the state tournament for the fourth year in a row. The last two appearance to the state tournament brought back-to-back state titles and a legacy that was promised to be passed on…and that it was.
“Greg Kissee has done an excellent job taking on the team this year,” Assistant Coach, Jesse Banning said, “This is my first time at state as a coach and I am so excited to watch these boys do what I know they can do. But win or lose, we are all so proud of the work they have put in and proud of the men they are becoming. I can’t wait to see how these next few days unfold. Go Badgers!”
The Badgers will play their first game of the state tournament on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Eagle High School 574 N. Park Lane in Eagle, Idaho, at 2 p.m. local time.
