They said it couldn’t be done. They said that they had their day in the sun and that they wouldn’t have that experience again for a long time.

Who are they anyway?

The Bonners Ferry Badgers basketball team, headed into the state tournament as the underdogs, fought against the Gooding Senators this afternoon with a neck and neck competition, at one point came back from a 9-point deficit, pulled it off and won 62-60.

After back-to-back state titles, a team full of seniors, and an award-winning coach, no one thought that they would be back to the state tournament for the fourth year in a row.

But here we are and the Badgers, led by head coach Greg Kissee and assistant coaches Brion Poston, Shane Banning and Jesse Banning, are set to play against the Teton Timberwolves on Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m. local time for their second game in the Idaho State High School basketball tournament.
