Stacie Watts has officially announced her candidacy for Boundary County Clerk, bringing a combination of public service experience, financial management expertise, and a strong commitment to community engagement to the race.
Watts previously served within the Boundary County Clerk’s office earlier in her career and has spent many years working in roles that required precision, accountability, and collaboration. Stacie has been deeply involved in Boundary County for many years through the Fair Board and community events. She currently works in the financial services industry with Edward Jones, where she supports complex operational processes and client service functions. Her background includes experience with budgeting, financial procedures, customer service, and coordination across multiple departments — skills she believes translate directly to the responsibilities of the Clerk’s office.
Earlier in her career, Watts served in a senior marketing and convention management role with Medtronic, where she managed a multi-million-dollar global budget and led cross-functional teams across domestic and international markets. In that role, she coordinated complex operational logistics, ensured regulatory compliance, aligned stakeholders across departments and time zones, and maintained strict financial oversight. The experience required strategic planning, fiscal discipline, accountability, and collaborative leadership — skills that directly translate to the oversight, budgeting, and interdepartmental coordination responsibilities of the County Clerk.
As part of her role in the financial services industry, Watts successfully completed the extensive background screening and regulatory review required by both Edward Jones and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), organizations known for maintaining rigorous standards related to financial responsibility, ethics, and compliance.
“The Clerk’s office is one of the most trusted roles in county government because it touches nearly every resident’s life — from elections to public records to county finances,” Watts said. “It requires accuracy, integrity, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to serving the public.”
Watts emphasized that her campaign will focus on maintaining election integrity and accuracy while also strengthening internal processes and enhancing the experience residents have when interacting with the office.
“One of my priorities is Customer Experience Excellence,” she explained. “Residents deserve to feel respected, informed, and confident that their business is handled professionally. This is not about criticizing the current Clerk or staff — it’s about building on the strong foundation that already exists and continually improving how we serve the community.”
Watts also addressed past civil cases related to unpaid personal bills that were filed in court and later resolved.
“Like many families, I experienced a period where financial obligations became difficult to manage,” Watts said. “Those matters were fully paid and dismissed. I take financial responsibility seriously, and those experiences strengthened my commitment to accountability, budgeting discipline, and transparency — values that are essential in public service.”
She added that the campaign process itself should be viewed as an opportunity for voters to evaluate qualifications and leadership approach.
“Ultimately, this election is a community job interview,” Watts said. “The residents of Boundary County are the hiring panel. I welcome questions, conversations, and the opportunity to earn their trust.”
Watts highlighted key priorities including:
- Maintaining election integrity and procedural accuracy
- Responsible budgeting and financial transparency
- Strong teamwork with county commissioners and department leaders
- Clear communication with the public
- A culture of professionalism, respect, and service
“I care deeply about this community because it is my home,” Watts said. “If elected, I will serve with dedication, transparency, and heart.”
