The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a wind advisory for North Idaho and much of eastern Washington, in effect from 8 a.m.to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Southwest winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour are expected, with gusts of up to 50 miles per hour possible. Such winds can blow around unsecured objects and topple trees, potentially blocking roads, as well as bring down powerlines, resulting in spot fires and power outages.
