Camas Prairie Leagues week 9

B Class: Gene Frederickson (R), A Class: Ron Campbell (L)

By Kristie Campbell

In Week 9 of the Camas Prairie Leagues, gusty winds across the northwest created extra challenges for all participants and teams. In Bonners Ferry, when the wind comes in from the southwest at 16 mph, with gusts raging, the birds play silly games, either staying low from the house without peak, or jumping straight up to the clouds. Prediction is complicated.

Temperatures were in the mid-50s, with a mix of sun, rain and wind.  We were joined by 26 participants this week.

Ron Campbell, Dustin Myers, and Joe Campbell each got a perfect score of 25/25, giving Bonners Ferry a 75/75 for the week.  This moved the Bonners Ferry Gun Club from 17th to 13th place, with one week left in regular competition.

Duke’s Claybusters remained in third place in the Region, with an even gain with second-place St. Maries over Hermiston by five points. Claybusters’ weekly score was 69/75, quite a feat with the raging winds.

Individual scores submitted for Week 9 were: Joe Campbell with 25, Randi Hibbard with 23, Mason Bryant, Gus Christensen, Gage Kunksy, and Trenton Myers, all with 21.  Aaron Michelsen got a 20, Judah Roffler and Milo Slevin with 19, Jar Kunsky 16, Zander Moseley and Robert Olson got 14, and Erik Aos with 13.
