You will soon be able to see the transformation at Valley View Elementary School. Changes are quickly approaching as we prepare to break ground on the new school. The transition begins this week with a series of strategic moves and safety precautions. The preparation has been in the works for over six months and now it is time to put it into motion.
Classroom Relocation: Starting Friday, March 27, 12 classrooms will be moved to clear the path for new construction.
Preschool Relocation: The preschool program is relocating to Bonners Ferry High School. We are excited to foster a unique mentorship environment between high school students and the younger learners.
Demolition of 1975 Modules: The “temporary” modular units that have been in use since 1975 will be demolished following an asbestos abatement process over the upcoming break. Bids for the demolition work were officially reviewed last week.
Safety First: To ensure the well-being of students and staff, a secure construction fence will be installed around the work zone before any heavy equipment arrives.
Save the Date: There will be an official groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, April 9. More details will be out soon. The event will feature several distinguished guests. While the exact time is still being finalized, the ceremony marks a historic shift for the school district.
We are so excited to see the many hours of work from so many school and community members come to fruition. Please stay tuned as we share the progress on a new Valley View.
