On March 12, 2020, Dr. Brian Drake was shot in the back at his chiropractic office in Bonners Ferry. Dr. Daniel Moore, also a practicing chiropractor, was accused of second-degree murder in criminal court but that was later thrown out. He then found himself in civil court after Brian Drake’s widow filed suit where she was awarded more than $15,000,000.
After six years of litigation, a suppressed confession, a second-degree murder charge thrown out, no murder weapon, and a civil case, Boundary County prosecuting attorney, Andrakay Pluid has turned the case over to the Idaho Attorney General’s office.
According to Pluid, “There were several factors that contributed to this, including the likely need for a change of venue (if re-filed) and the superior resources available to the Attorney General’s office in investigating the case further. That case has been made more challenging due to the suppression of Dan Moore’s confession and publicity by amateur “sleuths” online, and the resources of the Attorney General’s office presented the best possible opportunity for the case to be pursued.”

Dr Moore is innocent. And law enforcement officers in the area seriously abused their privileges and violated Moore’s rights.
