Letter to the Editor – BCRCC

Letter to the EditorI voted against the Fox in the Henhouse.

A tabloidformat “Official Republican Voter Guide”, produced and paid for by the Bonner County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) arrived in mailboxes
across Bonner and Boundary County this week.

Before trusting its grades, voters should know one thing: Scott Herndon is the chairman of the BCRCC. He is also a candidate selfendorsed throughout this guide.

The “committee” that produced this voter guide endorsed Herndon 266. Herndon is running for the 4th time against incumbent Jim Woodward. The committee endorsed Jane Sauter 257 for the House 1A seat over incumbent Mark Sauter. Both Republican incumbents Woodward and Mark Sauter were opposed by the committee chaired by one of the candidates on the ballot.

The guide states that grades are based on voting records, public statements, legislative history, and candidate questionnaires. Both Jim Woodward and Mark Sauter have stated they did not receive a candidate questionnaire. The “committee” claims one was sent. The “committee” did not solicit comment on the “voter guide” from either Sauter or Woodward before it was published.

The guide caused additional confusion this week via a text message naming the Boundary County Republican Central Committee as an endorsing party. Not true.
Boundary County has its own separate central committee which neither produced nor endorsed this guide.

This is not an independent voter guide. It is a campaign document produced by a “committee” loyal to the BCRCC chairman endorsing himself and two allied candidates.

It was then distributed at BCRCC expense to every household in the district.

Herndon (falsely identifies as “Senator Herndon”) is once again running a dirty campaign filled with untruths and halftruths against his opponents. Message, call, or write to Senator Woodward, Representative Mark Sauter, and Chuck Lowman before believing anything in Herndon’s “voter guide”.

  1. Well done Mr. Kee. I just received my OFFICIAL Bonner and Boundary County Republican Voter Guide. People of the State of Idaho need to look closely at the Idaho Freedom Foundation they are the reason Idaho doesn’t have a surplus in the state budget anymore. Taxes have been cut so drastically the counties and state entities like the Idaho State Police are scrambling to cover budget short falls. I don’t like to pay taxes, but they are necessary for maintaining
essential services. At least I’ll have something useful to put in the outhouse and it won’t be for reading material.
