Julie has worked as a licensed veterinary technician at Bonners Ferry Veterinary Clinic for 13 years, and she's long seen a definite need for an establishment in the community that catered to cats. After opening her beautiful cat lodging facilities, she set about honing her cat grooming skills completing a National Cat Grooming Institute course and outfitting and setting up her grooming area. "It took time to learn every aspect," Julie said on becoming the only cat groomer working between Spokane and Bozeman. While you see cats spend a lot of time at what looks like grooming, they aren't very effective, Julie said. Instead, they're actually making things worse, ingesting a lot of hair and covering their coat with spit, which adds to dander ... the primary component of what people allergic to cats are actually reacting to. And while they're not really all that good at it, cats do like to be clean. A professional grooming is the answer, satisfying the needs of both the pet and the people those pets love and share space and time with. Boarding and grooming are by appointment only. To learn more, visit the Catnip Getaway on Facebook, call or text (208) 718-2837 or email thecatnipgetaway@gmail.com. |
