Commissioner, District #2

Tim Bertling

Hello, my name is Tim Bertling I'm running for a second term for county commissioner, District 2. My grandfather moved to Boundary county in 1949 and lived in the Curley Creek area. He later moved to Moyie Springs. He welded on the Copeland Ferry at Meeker's Machine Shop in Bonners Ferry. I myself grew up in Moyie springs and graduated in 1987 from Bonners Ferry High School.

I enjoy bowhunting and fishing, mountain biking and raising a garden with my wife of 33 years. I grew up in a logging family and started my own business in 1989 where I contract mechanical felling to other loggers.

I was on the school board from 2000 to 2011, so I know how it is to hold a public office where there are budgets to look over and policies to follow.
As a commissioner, I feel we need to keep our community as rural as possible. We need our agricultural land as well as timberland to be a priority. We need growth where it makes sense close to resources.

I support our law enforcement. As our population grows, so does crime and with the southern border open, the drugs are moving at an alarming rate.
I've been trying to make it a priority how we need to update our road and bridge trucks and equipment so we can address our roads in the winter and summer. I want to keep our county moving forward in an unbiased and official capacity as commissioner.

I only want the best for the county and its residents.
