Museum to debut 'Small Towns, Big Dreams'

July 1, 2021

The Boundary County Museum will unveil its new book, "Small Towns, Big Dreams," from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 9, where the first copies will be available for sale.

"Small Towns, Big Dreams" takes the reader on a journey to the towns created along the waterways, roadways and railroads of Boundary County.

Put together by museum curator Sue Kemmis and including writings by the museum education committee, you can follow the transportation routes that have been the lifelines of the many communities that have formed in Boundary County, some enduring, some flourishing and fading. Some you know; Bonners Ferry, Moyie Springs, Naples, some are but memories Mission Hill, Fry, Boulder City, McArthur, Kenny and more.

There are also "stories behind the stories," giving a unique insight into this beautiful place we call home.

While you won't be able to see the beautiful tome of over 229 pages until the unveiling, you can get a six-page sneak peek on the museum's website.

Just click on the image of the book's cover.

"Small Towns, Big Dreams" will be available for $25 per copy at the debut, 7229 Main Street in downtown Bonners Ferry.
With a weighty title like that, it might be expected that there are some big secrets revealed, but it’s much more like good advice from an old and experienced friend.
