Kootenai River Days set for July 20-23

July 8, 2022

The Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce has set the itinerary for fours days of fun for this year's Kootenai River Days celebration, taking place Wednesday through Saturday, July 20-23, featuring a three-day carnival and not one but two Main Street street dances.

The fun begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday with a free movie, "Lucas," at the Pearl Theater, 7160 Ash Street, Bonners Ferry.

The carnival, with authentic carival food and rides and games for all ages, kicks off Thursday at the fairgrounds and continues through Saturday.

The Rotary Wine Walk begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Auto. Advanced tickets are $30 at Riverside Auto, Mountain West Bank and Under the Sun. Tickets at the event are $35.

Friday is Crazy Days, when local businesses lose their marbles, move their merchandise to the sidewalk and slash prices like crazy, offering some of the best deals of the year, and the evening is going to be for kick up the heels, with Jam Shack kicking out the jams at the street dance beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Kootenai River Days builds to a crescendo on Saturday, with the final day of the carnival and day two of Crazy Days as a backdrop.

At 8 a.m., runners from around the region will take off from the fairgrounds for the 2022 Kootenai River Run and the Birdies for Brothers Golf Tournament tees off at 9 a.m. at Mirror Lake Golf Course.

The Farmers Market will open in the city parking lot at 9 a.m. and the streets in downtown Bonners Ferry will transform into a street fair at 11 a.m. with a DJ keeping the atmosphere festive and street vendors setting up shop.

There'll be a cornhole tournament beginning at 1 p.m. with a $20 per team entry fee and from 1 to 4 p.m., kids can enjoy free bounce houses, face painting and Dave the Magic Man.

There'll be a family dance on Main Street with the Talent Team from 5 to 7 p.m. and Sound Man DJ will play a finale street dance from 7 to 11 p.m.
