'Scheherazade/Aladdin' to light up the Becker stage

March 14, 2023

Everyone knows the tale of Aladdin and most have at least heard of the “Arabian Nights,” but how often are the two shown together in their original context? The classic story of Aladdin and his rise from street-rat to prince was actually one the 1001 stories that the queen Scheherazade told her husband in order to change his heart to save not only her own life, but countless others across the kingdom.

Now is your chance to get the whole experience with the musical production of "Scheherazade/Aladdin" this Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, March 16-18, at Bonners Ferry High School’s Becker Auditorium.

This will be a show that the whole family will enjoy with singing and dancing, including around 75 dancers and multiple excellent solos. A total cast of nearly 100 actors composed almost entirely of students has an impressive amount of coordination.

As if an outstanding cast wasn’t enough, the costumes and set bring you straight to the Arabian sands and palaces. To make the context more meaningful another original tale included in the Arabian nights is there to bring the stories together.

All-in-all, director Kelly Collet really outdid herself this time with a show of truly mythical proportions.

Showtimes at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
