Candidate for State Senate District 1 Scott Herndon fully
realized that his "support/recommendation/endorsement" by the
Legislative District 1 (LD-1) Republican Committee was really
a back-door attempt to circumvent any opposition from the
member(s) of the Boundary County Republican Central Committee
(BCRCC). Mr. Herndon has had ample opportunities to request an
audience with the BCRCC in regards to any endorsement. Now he
finds himself in a dilemma of his own creation.
He knew of BCRCC's decision not to endorse any candidates prior to the May 17 Republican primary election as of last week's debate held at the Boundary County High School gymnasium, at the latest. In essence, on his own volition, he was obfuscating the truth. Mr. Herndon has both support and opposition from the individual members of the BCRCC. It is the duty and privilege of the voters of Boundary County to choose the candidates they want to represent Boundary County Republicans in the fall general election. Then, after the May 17 primary, it is the BCRCC's duty to implement local campaign strategies. We, the voters, pick the candidates ... not the BCRCC. The BCRCC's job is candidate recruitment only, prior to the republican primary. I have endorsed Lester Pinkerton, candidate for North Bonners Ferry Precinct Committeeman for the above reasons! I further recommend Jim Woodward for State Senate based on nearly every issue in that race. |
