Herndon would rob public school funding

October 3, 2022

Steve Johnson is a retired educator who is running as a write-in candidate against Scott Herndon. In January, our legislators will appropriate $410 million in additional education funds. We know that Steve Johnson will vote to send that money to our rural public schools. His opponent will vote to send that money to his preferred programs which will weaken rural schools and cost taxpayers more money in the long run.

Scott Herndon’s voucher programs would divert money away from public schools and then send it to private and religious schools. This robs our rural public schools of critical funding. In addition, public tax money should never be used to pay for private or religious schools.

As a side note, Scott Herndon received $4,000 from Larry and Marianne Williams from Boise who support private and religious for-profit schools. Herndon had to amend his donation report to avoid violating campaign contribution rules.

Write in Steve Johnson because he will vote to send our tax money where it is needed most: our rural public schools. Remember, when you see Herndon, write-in Steve Johnson - and fill in the box next to his name.

What you have in your letter is nothing but lies. This has been addressed earlier by another liberal activist. He done nothing wrong. Also you had better watch where you put Steve Johnson's name on the ballot for it to count.
