County commission land use hearings postponed

Two public hearings scheduled before Boundary County Commissioners originally set for Tuesday, November 9, have been postponed until Tuesday, November 16, to allow additional time for public notice and written comments. The hearings are on land use applications by Alta Forest Products LLC at 9 a.m. and Ruth Eckblad at 9:30 a.m. Both will be held at the county annex building, 6566 Main Street, Bonners Ferry.

Alta Forest Products is seeking with appl5ication 21-0193 to amend the Boundary County Comprehensive Plan and to change the zoning of a 16.5-acre parcel located north of the existing mill in Naples off Deep Creek Loop from agriculture/forestry to industrial to allow for expansion of the mill.

Ruth Eckblad, with application 21-0232, is seeking preliminary short plat approval for the proposed Eckblad Addition Subdivision, dividing a 20.22-acreparcel off Rigby Road into two 10.11-acre lots. The property is zoned rural residential, which allows five-acre minimum parcel size.

Written comment on either application can be dropped off at the planning office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, November9.
