Snow and ice in Kootenai/Cabinet forecast tonight

The National Weather Service, Missoula, has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and ice overnight in the Kootenai/Cabinet region, in effect from 7 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Sunday.

One to three inches of snow, becoming very wet and heavy in the morning, is expected along the main travel corridors, and four to six inches is predicted at higher ele4vaztions, possibly accompanied by a light coat of glaze ice.

As the morning warms, expect freezing rain followed by rain. Motorists are advised to exercise extra caution.
