Fry Healthcare Foundation gearing up for Dessert Dash, Festival of Hearts 2022

January 17, 2022

The Fry Healthcare Foundation is working hard to support Boundary Community Hospital despite the obstacles thrown its way, and while its members are all very eager to see the community in person at the annual gala, that's not possible quite yet, and the Festival of Hearts 2022 will once again an online event via Facebook and the Dessert Dash a raffle, both to raise funds to meet the ongoing needs of Boundary Community Hospital and the Extended Care Facility.

The pandemic has highlighted the importance of rural hospitals like ours; there were several points during the pandemic that transfers were made extremely difficult due to lack of available rooms at other facilities and staffing issues. Boundary Community Hospital has strived to increase the level of care it is able to provide to ensure that our community is receiving excellent care despite transfer difficulties.

Expanding service lines and abilities comes with more vast equipment needs.

Last year the Fry Healthcare Foundation raised enough to provide Boundary Community Hospital with two crash carts, a state-of-the-art surgical table and a podiatry table through the support of our sponsors and generous donors. They could not have accomplished all of this without the help of our community, and members extend their heartfelt thanks.

The Festival of Hearts online auction will run from January 31 to February 10, and winners of auction items will be able to pick up their items at 5 p.m. Friday, February 11, at Riverside Auto Center.

Tickets for the Dessert Dash Raffle are $10 and will be available January 20 through February 10 from any Fry Healthcare Foundation board member, at the Bonners Ferry Branch of Columbia Bank, at Riverside Auto Center or online here.

Up for grabs will be three grand prizes donated by local businesses, to be revealed later this week, and 25 fabulous desserts donated by local businesses and individuals who are well-known for their luscious confections!
