Free seed at seed bank open house

County residents have a valuable free resource at the Boundary County Extension Office, and free seeds will be available at the Boundary County Seed Bank Open House from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, preceded by a seed starting class at 1 p.m., especially helpful to those new to gardening in this area to both learn how to test the viability of your seeds and to get your plants off to the best start possible.

The Boundary County Seed Bank is supplied by local Master Gardeners who grow and harvest the seed right here in the county. Some of the seeds available include arugula, several varieties of beans, beets, cabbage, corn, corn salad, dill, several varieties of lettuce, parsnips, peppers and mountain spinach. In addition t getting free seed, you can also talk to Master Gardeners and get answers to your gardening questions.
