Dental help offered to Idahoans over 60 |

April 28, 2022
According to American Dental Association research, 45-percent of low-income adults say they avoid smiling, and 68-percent of them sometimes find life less satisfying due to the poor condition of their mouths and teeth. Many seniors simply can’t afford a dental visit, and an overwhelming majority, 86-percent, of low-income adults cite cost as the main reason they haven’t been to the dentist. The GrinWell for You program provides Idaho seniors with an opportunity to receive dental benefits at no cost, which leads to less pain, healthier smiles, and improved lives. “Seniors in our community with poor oral health tend to face extra hurdles in getting dental care,” said Heather Brown, director of oral health and community outreach at Delta Dental of Idaho. “By increasing the amount we are able to provide each individual, we are making it easier for these Idahoans to get the dental care they need and help people achieve better oral and overall health.” Delta Dental of Idaho invests in programs to expand access to oral health care, improve oral health education, and support Idaho communities. The GrinWell for You program is one of many community programs the not-for-profit company’s community outreach department operates to expand access to quality health care in Idaho communities. Last year, Delta Dental of Idaho invested over $2 million to provide valuable outreach programs for Idaho students and aging adults who would have otherwise not received care.
