Gear Up Idaho Youth Summit coming up soon

May 2, 2022

Gear Up Idaho and the Idaho Department of Education are hosting this year's Youth Summit on the Moscow campus of the University of Idaho from June 13-17; five all-expenses paid days packed with lots of learning, lots of fun and lots of great memories, and Bonners Ferry freshmen and sophomores are invited to apply!

According to Boundary County School District 101 Gear Up Coordinator Jaycee Atkins, this year's youth summit is designed to help the ninth and 10th graders develop college and career opportunities along three tracks; agriculture, architecture and engineering, with five hours of each day devoted to exploring the possibilities in the track they choose. Outside of class time, there are fun activities and the chance to explore the U of I campus.

Students selected will be bused to Moscow and stay in the U of I dorms, with meals and snacks provided.

The application process is fairly extensive and only 90 students will take part in this year's summit. Those interested are encouraged to contact Jaycee as soon as possible by email, jaycee.atkins@mail.bcsd101.com or by calling the high school, (208) 267-3146 and asking for her.
