Bonners Ferry P&Z to consider two applications for signage

July 13, 2022

The Bonners Ferry Planning and Zoning Commission will hold two public hearings during their next meeting at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, July 21, both to allow the placement of signs. All interested are encouraged to attend the meeting, being held at city hall. Anyone needing accommodation due to disability should call (208) 267-3105 no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 19.

Julieann Cowell and Ed Earnest are seeking a variance to allow a setback of about 14-inches from two side yard property lines at the Kootenai Valley Motel, 6409 Main Street, to allow a new freestanding sign. Normal setback for property zoned commercial is ten feet.

FJC LLC and Boundary Community Hospital are seeking a conditional zone change and comprehensive plan map amendment from residential A/residential to commercial for a property at 6497 Comanche Street adjacent to Highway 95 to allow the hospital to place an animated electronic message board, which are not allowed in the residential zone.

Additional information is available during regular business hours at Bonners Ferry City Hall, 7232 Main Street.

The deadline for written comment is 5 p.m. Friday, July 15. Written comments can be dropped off at city hall or mailed to Bonners Ferry P&Z, P.O. Box 149, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.
