Kootenai County detectives seeking to identify body

July 13, 2022

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in identifying the body of a man found in a wooded area off Highway 53 and Greensferry Road near the Rathdrum paintball field. He had no identification, jewelry or anything to help establish his identity. Detectives estimate that he died sometime in late summer to early winter, 2021.

He appears to be in his 20s to 30s, is about six feet, two inches tall and has short brown hair. He has notable arthritis in his back and a surgical rod in his left tibia (shin).

He was dressed in a gray, long sleeve three button thermal Henley shirt, a white t-shirt, size 34 x 32 blue jeans, a camo Mossy Oak brand belt, dark blue Sketcher tennis shoes and AND1 socks. A blue plaid button up Canyon Guide Outfitters shirt and a green or camo jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Northrup, reference case 22-17577, at jnorthrup@kcgov.us or (208) 446-1351.
